Why should I join the IPMA?
The IPMA is the primary source of information and education for managers and supervisors in law firms, corporate legal departments, and government, judicial, and legal agencies. With the IPMA, you can fine-tune your managerial skills through professional development programming focused around current and emerging legal industry trends.
How can the IPMA help my career?
The IPMA has developed many resources to steer new and experienced managers and supervisors along a path of professional success. Our most valued resource, by far, is the networking you have with other members. You can connect on a regular basis with people from all over North America who face the same challenges and issues as you. With the help of IPMA Affinity Groups, you’re able to speak with peers on a quarterly basis about topics that you focus on in your job.
The IPMA also offers many online management resources such as the New Manager Starter Kit, Job Descriptions, and the Annual Compensation Survey. The IPMA publishes management-related articles and articles on current trends and issues in the legal environment. This member benefit can be found on the IPMA website under
Benefits & Resources. Free webinars on many different topics will provide you with professional education. All recorded webinars are available on our website as an additional resource.
When can I start to use my membership?
Your membership is valid upon submission of your membership application. Members should be sure to submit dues in a timely manner to avoid any interruption in membership benefits.
Who can join the IPMA?
Membership in the IPMA is available to all managers and supervisors of personnel in law firms, corporate legal departments, and government, judicial, and legal agencies. Membership is also available to those individuals who serve as paralegal, law clerk, or other legal educators and to providers of services and products of interest to managers and supervisors of legal personnel.
How do I join the IPMA?

How can I pay my dues?
Membership dues can be submitted online when you fill out a membership application, mailed to IPMA Headquarters, or paid by phone. Current members can login to the IPMA website and select Your Account to pay renewal dues.
What Chapters does the IPMA have?
The IPMA offers free enrollment in Chapters that provide interaction with peers—a key element in the success of the IPMA and its members. Members are automatically enrolled in an applicable local Chapter and have the option to join additional Chapters outside their office location. To find a list of Chapters, please visit

What Committees does the IPMA have?

What Affinity Groups does the IPMA have?

How do I join a Chapter, Committee or Affinity Group?
Simply login to the IPMA website, select Your Account and then Committees & Groups. From this page, you will be able to join any Chapter, Committee, or Affinity Group.
Where is the IPMA located?
IPMA members are located all over the United States and Canada. We have 24 Chapters throughout North America. IPMA Headquarters is located in Atlanta, Georgia.
