Job Summary
Our Winnipeg office is currently looking for an experienced Paralegal to join our Real Estate team. Responsible for paralegal tasks related to all aspects of a residential real estate practice, this role helps us meet client and transactional deadlines. The successful candidate will work independently under the supervision of a lawyer.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Managing files from beginning to end of transactions including sales, purchases, refinances and closings
  • Preparing real estate transactional and conveyance documents, including transfers, caveats, mortgages, refinancing related documents, liens and all related documentation
  • Preparing PPR registrations and drafting PPR reports to lenders
  • Analyzing and drafting trust conditions for review by supervising lawyer
  • Maintaining and organizing schedules of closings
  • Managing all incoming and outgoing funds, including calculation of requisition of funds for closing, mortgage financing and other requirements
  • Attending to file openings and reviewing conflict searches
  • Preparing Statement of Accounts as necessary
  • Maintaining client communications and, where necessary, acting as primary and independent contact with clients, financial institutions, brokers and other counsel
  • Producing reports as necessary, including mortgage reports to lenders

Qualifications Include:
  • Graduate of an accredited legal program
  • Previous work experience in the area of residential real estate
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Proficiency with Conveyancer/Unity will be considered an asset
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Organization skills; demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to meet deadlines with excellent multi-tasking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and strong client service skills
