Position Information

Case Assistant (Real Estate) - New York

Dentons US LLP is currently recruiting for a Real Estate Case Assistant to be based in our New York office. The Real Estate Case Assistant will report to the Paralegal Services Administrator (local) and Practice & Docketing Director (national).


  • Assist with basic preparation and/or proofing of transactional documents including creating signature pages, updating footers, inserting dates and creating PDFs.
  • Prepare synopsis of parties and description of funding for a real estate transaction.
  • Follow-up on recorded documents and title policies with title companies, ACRIS and handle distribution of original documents to various custodians.
  • Assist with preparation of closing indexes and CD binders.
  • Ensure post -closing obligations are met, i.e. distributing notices of sale.
  • Create and maintain electronic files in firm document management system.
  • Assist Real Estate Paralegals with various projects as assigned.
  • These duties may be ongoing or ad hoc in nature.
  • Other duties as may be assigned to fully meet the billable requirements of the position.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PDF creation tool(s) is highly desirable.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Professional demeanor, strong attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills are essential.
  • Excellent client service, ability to work overtime and travel as needed.
