Position Information

IP Project Coordinator - Chicago, St Louis, Kansas City, Dallas or NY

Dentons US LLP is currently recruiting for an IP Project Coordinator for the Intellectual Property & Technology Practice to be based in Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City, Dallas or New York. This position will support lawyers and professionals in the Trademark Sector of the Intellectual Property Group and report to the Paralegal Services Administrator (local) and the Practice & Docketing Director (national).


  • Fully support Lawyers and Paralegals as needed including providing basic administrative support such as making travel arrangements, preparing mailings, maintaining attorney calendars and providing reminders for important events/meetings.
  • Prepare reports for practice team when necessary.
  • Setup and maintain timekeeper's work files, including daily and regular filing.
  • Manage documents in FileSite, as well as maintenance of physical files.
  • Review docket reports; keeping abreast of deadlines, and communicating to attorneys on docket responses.
  • Prepare reporting correspondence of filings; request documents from clients/inventors, regarding formal documents; upload client filings/communications into client intranet systems.
  • Identify and respond to client inquiries in a timely manner, and seek feedback/follow-up as appropriate.
  • Prepare formal documents, charts and/or correspondence for attorney review.
  • Assist with accurately preparing and filing documents with the USPTO.
  • Other duties may be assigned to fully meet the billable requirements of the position.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail required.
  • Strong analytical, writing, interpersonal and organizational skill.
  • Ability to work productively with firm personnel at all levels.
  • Knowledge of USPTO processes and procedures.
