Our Mission

The International Practice Management Association (IPMA) is the premier resource for information and education on the management of paralegals and other practice support professionals in law firms and law departments globally. Its mission is to advocate for the effective use and management of these professionals, to promote and enhance the proficiency and professionalism of its members, and to provide thought leadership to the membership, the legal industry and the public at large on the value of utilization and management of paralegals and other practice support professionals.

On behalf of the International Practice Management Association (IPMA), we are excited to invite you to connect with the most influential group of legal practice support managers in North America!

The IPMA has a membership of legal practice support managers located throughout the United States and Canada. IPMA members are active decision makers with buying power to secure products and services necessary to develop and manage paralegal and practice support programs within their organizations. Many are full-time paralegal directors, managers, or coordinators; some are working managers or case managers; some are human resource professionals or attorneys who manage paralegals and practice support professionals; and others handle a broad range of administrative responsibilities related to paralegals and other practice support professionals. Members of the IPMA are vital to the continued growth of the practice support function within their organizations.

The IPMA Annual Conference & Expo is the association's hallmark, three-day professional development and networking event. Participants attend educational sessions and workshops on practice support management, and for many attendees, the expo serves as their primary opportunity to stay informed about the latest services and products available from legal industry service providers. Expo Booth Selection & Assignment

Initial booth selection and assignment will commence with paid applications received by Friday, July 7, 2017. Subsequent assignments will be made in order of receipt, according to available space.

Booth selection and assignment will be offered on a priority basis, with the following criteria taken into account:

  • 2017 conference sponsors
  • Current IPMA business partner members
  • Past conference sponsors and exhibitors

Note: Only paid exhibitors and sponsors will be allowed to display, solicit, or distribute literature or collateral.

The conference program guide serves as a handy reference for attendees both during the conference and afterward. It contains the conference schedule with detailed descriptions of each program along with biographies of the presenting faculty. In addition, the guide contains the complete expo guide, with floor plans, exhibitor descriptions, and exhibitor and sponsor advertising. Cover sponsorship includes company branding on the front cover of the guide, as well as an inside-cover advertisement and recognition as a sponsor on conference signage and promotional materials.

IPMA Business Partner Membership

Stand-alone IPMA business partner membership is also available for non-exhibiting companies.

Business partner membership in the IPMA is open to any individual or entity providing legal-related services, products, or materials that support the association's mission. Business partner members hold non-voting status; however, they may serve on a committee or task force with approval by the IPMA Board of Directors and/or as a chapter co-chair with chapter membership and IPMA Board approval. Business partner membership shall be in the name of one business or organization. Additional business/organization names require separate memberships.

The IPMA offers two types of business partner membership:

CORPORATE BUSINESS PARTNER MEMBERSHIP: $1,600/YEAR USD

  • Corporate business partners may designate a principal representative for the organization, and one representative for each of the organization's office locations is entitled to business partner benefits.
  • Corporate business partners will be regularly featured on the IPMA website (with a logo on the home page, a description of their offerings, and a link to their home page), in the association's newsletter, and at IPMA events.
  • Designated member representatives are entitled to register for IPMA events and local chapter meetings and events.
  • Member representatives have member access to the IPMA website and online membership directory.
  • Member organizations are entitled to member discounts on registration for IPMA events and exhibit space.
  • Member representatives are eligible for appointment to select IPMA committees.
